Exam FAQ

    1. Always be equipped with highlighters - read and highlight the key words of the question.

    2. Re-write the question simply in your own words to check you understand what it is sking you.

    3. ALWAYS take time to annotate sources, and write a quick plan - your answer will be much more focused.

    4. Time management is essential. Take a watch and move on after the allocated time - missing out a small section of one question is a much better option than missing another entirely.

  • We all get moments where our minds go blank. If you have revised, you will be able to write something! Write down everything that you can think of that relates to the topic. Then start to group these ideas together into paragraphs. If this still doesn’t work - move on to another question to give yourself space to calm down and process. Whatever you do, don’t panic!

  • Exam boards are notorious for their tricky wording of questions. My advice is to read all of the questions on the paper first, before writing anything. Choose the question that you are most confident with first - your mind will whir away and think about the others in the background without you realising!
