IN THIS LESSON

“A politician needs the ability to foretell what is going to happen next week, next month and next year. And have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn’t happen.”

Winston Churchill

This section is designed to cover the workings of the executive branch in a way that makes it more manageable - for your exams, you need to know the roles and powers of the Prime Minister, how they exercise these, and what checks are in place to limit them, and how they choose and interact with their Cabinet.

Remember - this isn’t a History exam. But, that being said, you do still need to have plenty of examples from various Prime Ministers.
