What makes a great essay?

One of my standout memories from university is when one of my lecturers told me that my essay got a low 2:1 because it ‘just didn’t convince him.’

I was outraged. I didn’t get it. But now I completely understand where he was coming from. There has to be confidence in your answer, and you MUST make decisions and support them.
